报告摘要: In this talk I discuss early times dynamics of relativistic heavy ion collisions, modelled by an initial color electric field which decays to a plasma by the Schwinger effect. The coupling between the dynamical evolution of the field to the one of the plasma is described by relativistic kinetic theory augmented by an invariant source term describing particles pairs pop-up from the vacuum. Both 1+1D and a 3+1D expanding geometries are considered. The results suggest that for reasonable values of the plasma viscosity, the initial color electric field decay time, partial isotropization and thermalization occur within 1 fm/c in agreement with the common lore of hydrodynamics. I also discuss photon production in the pre-equilibrium stage, that is shown to give a substantial contribution to direct photon spectra measured in experiments.
